The Dreamer...

I love this quote. When we move and I finally get my own room, I want this on my wall, right above my bed. :)
It describes me really well. I'm definitely a dreamer. One of the reasons I love things like reading and Doctor Who so much is that, for a moment crazy, impossible things can be real. Time travel and other worlds and mythical creatures.

Aren’t impossible things God’s specialty?

If God invented giraffes and bumblebees, why not dragons and unicorns? And if not, where did the stories come from? Tolkien said “I believe legends and myths are largely made of truth.” And I totally agree.

There's some childish, optimistic part of me always hoping that maybe, somewhere, there's unknown, wonderful things. But I want to see them and feel them and experience them. And since the realistic, logical part of me says that that's impossible.

When I'm done with highschool, I have no idea what I'm gonna do. I want to travel, to see the world. And write, obviously. And drink tea. But other than that I don't know what's gonna happen... I really want God to use me to bring people to him. I don't know how, but that's what I want. Tea, God, books, and traveling. That's my dream world.

Oh, the Wonderful Library

Last night was my first time volunteering there. It was pretty fun, excepting the first fifteen minutes...
Elia and I are "buddies" which basically means we just are working at the same time. Our job is basically to sign people up for the Summer Reading Program and to shelve books.
Unfortunately for us, NO ONE who was supposed to help us was there. The librarians in charge of the Teen Volunteers (us) had left, and so had the other teens, apparently. There was this huge group around the table, waiting for someone to sign them up. Neither Elia or I had ever volunteered before, and we didn't really know what to do. We read the information they had given us (there really wasn't that much, actually) and figured things out from our memories and what other people who'd signed up before seemed to expect.
It was really awkward for those first few minutes.
But then everybody left and we figured out what to do. So we started talking about books and movies and what we like to do. She's about a month older than me, and we have a lot in common. We have similar taste in movies and books. We discussed Sherlock (and our longing to punch Moffat) and the Hunger Games and the Mortal Instruments and the Hobbit and Star Trek: Into Darkness. I would love to go see that movie, and Dad said we could go see it, but so far he has yet to take me. :P
Library.
That word is full of magic, don't you think? You can practically smell books in that word. It makes me think of secret passages and hidden secrets and shadows and stories, so many stories. Ooh, I LOVE libraries. :D
So the fact that I get to spend four hours a week there is awesome. And I really wish I could be there more (and that I could get paid, because I need a job).
Now I'm FINALLY going shopping, so adios!!

The First Day of Summer

Was today.
Technically I've been out of school for a while now, but I'm still counting today as the first. I got to sleep in, and got a mani-pedi, and went swimming with the Clarks, and then went to the Morris's tonight to hang out and eat s'mores. It was soooo fun. :D The pool felt amazing. Cold and refreshing and wonderful. We played colors and Alligator and a couple other classics. Mac and Dad went fishing while the girls were getting their nails done, and Mac caught two fish. :D He's very proud of himself.
Going over to the Morris's house was super fun too. We hung out outside and played four square and this football game which I won (yeah, I know, I was shocked too). Mac and Caleb started singing Loud N' Clear at some point which was...interesting. Then we jumped on the trampoline (=D) and ate the s'mores. Ohh, yum. Then we sat around and discussed movies/TV shows for awhile. Everyone but Caleb agreed that Captain America was the best of the Avengers movies, and Parker and I told everyone that they could not judge Doctor Who unless they started with "Rose" and watched up to "The Empty Child". Then you may decide you don't like it. (Just kidding. That's the point of no return).
And I just got off subject again. OH!! If you combine the words "random" and "mumbling" you get "rambling". Anyways...
And then we came home, where I wrote this and will now post it.
:D
Enjoy your summer!! :D

Follow Up On the Zoo

There is nothing like the zoo to make you realize how flipping epic God is. I mean, it's amazing how creative God is. Look at this giraffe. admire the neck and the polka dots. Now check out the tiger. Look how soft he is. And the gorilla. Look at the gorilla's feet!! How cool are they!!
And God created it all. He's brilliant!! And wonderful and I just love him.

Macster

Tis his birthday!! Wooo!! He's nine. We went to the zoo and had Texas Roadhouse for dinner and cake. :D It's been a good day, and tomorrow will be fun too. We're going bowling and I think the Clark's are coming over for dinner and cupcakes. Solo yay!!

Farewell Braces!!

Technically it isn't guaranteed... but there is a very, very good chance my braces are coming off in a month. A MONTH!!!! YAAAAYYYY!!!! :D *throws confetti* *dances around*
I'm a little excited. :DD

Parallel Stories

Do you know what I mean by that? Some people call them like companion books or whatever, but they're the books and series that cross over into each other but can also stand alone. Like Percy Jackson and the Kane Chronicles, or the Kingdom Series and the Knights of Arrethtrae, or my latest discovery, the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices. I finished the last Infernal Devices book today. It was sad. :( but satisfying because it had a good ending .
Some one once told me that they didn't like the end of Mockingjay. I was like ":O but it was perfect!" It neatly wrapped up everything and it didn't leave you wondering what happens next.
Unlike the end of Inheritance, which brought up more questions than it answered.
Yeah, still mad about that book...
Parallels!
Because I'm unoriginal and I like certain names, I started blending my stories a little bit, at least the ones that happen in this time period/world, so I could use a certain character more than once. And it's sooo fun. Because you have to keep it kind of subtle to keep the plot from changing (something Rick did wonderfully in the Throne of Fire, throwing Lacey and Drew in the same school as Sadie and Carter. Just enough to tease us and get us excited, not enough to influence the plot.) Anyway, it's great. It's not like anyone will notice but me, but I feel so boss when I make it work. xD
Now, I'm going to read The Great Gatsby. The movie trailer piqued my interest, and my friend recommended it, so I shall read!
Farewell. :)

SUMMER

IS HERE!!!!
WOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I'm done with all my finals!!!! YAAAAAY!!!!!
We got out a whole fifteen minutes early, too.
Except now it's kinda sad because I won't see most of the seniors ever again, and everyone else for like three months. :(
Abby and Lexi and I promised to text and Face time and try to get together a lot, so that's good.
EXCEPT. A couple days ago, Silas mentioned he might not come to Trinity next year, he might go to Derby again.
Yeah.... we got a little mad...
But ya know, if he wants to ditch us and go to a public school, that's cool.
-_-
On a happier note, I'M A SOPHOMORE!!!! :D

Barnes and Noble is my favorite.

Well, it's a good thing I'm broke. Because if I wasn't, I probably would have left with at least two t-shirts, a new notebook (with cute Hobbit illustrations) about eleven Doctor Who books, a mini TARDIS (it made TARDIS noises), a bunch of other books, some movies, more Star Wars books, the Micheal Buble CD they were playing, a Starbucks frappichino...
Yep, definitely good I'm broke.
I really want to work there, but when I asked a few weeks ago, they said you have to be 18. -_-
It's the 50th anniversary year for Doctor Who, so that's why the whole world (fine, the whole geek world) has become so obsessed with it lately.
There is Doctor Who Monopoly.
Complete win.
I get really excited for really stupid stuff, guys.
For example, when a great song comes on the radio. :D Or when my best friends and I all wear the same outfit to school without planning it. Or when I find out it's National Chocolate Chip day. o_o Or when I get into the musical. :D
That's right, I made it. Ba-bam. Addi Herndon, Chorus Member and Star of the Show.
Be jealous.
Just kidding. Don't. Jealousy is bad. u_u
TWO MORE TESTS AND I'M DONE.
One more day...one day more... :D

YAAAAY!!!

Reason to Rejoice Number One:
I'M DONE WITH GEOMETRY AND BIOLOGY!!!!! :D HALLELUJAH!!! Hardest finals are over!!
And I just checked my grade, and I'm back up to A in geometry, even though my final isn't graded yet. And I'm pretty confident about it, so yeah. :D
Biology, however. >_> Nope. Just nope. That test sucked. And that's all that can be said about it. But it's over, so yay. :D

Reason to Rejoice Number Two:
I get to volunteer at the library this summer! :D I get to spend four hours a week at the library. <3 And I get a T-shirt out of it. ^_^ The only better part would be if I got paid. >_> I need a job, y'all. But I'm still excited about the library.

So yep, I'm pretty happy right now. :)

I'm not a nerd.

Bahahaha... the quote is the best.

My life
>_> So I got called a nerd like four times this week...
I still say I'm not smart enough to be a nerd. :P
I love the way our neighbor worded it. xD I was flipping out about the cover FOR ALLEGIANT (AHHHHH) and he was like "Most people get excited for movies and stuff." Mom: "She gets excited for movies, too, but mostly books." Him: "Huh... She's a unique person."
I started dying, I was laughing so hard.
Oh, here's the cover.

I'm SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!! :D The book comes out this fall, and I'm extremely impatient. The first two were awesome.
Gosh. The author keeps posting these little hints and stuff on her blog, and I'm dying of curiosity.
DYING.
Ooh, okay, so I didn't say anything about Star Wars day, but Mac, Dad and I all were very excited about it.
Last night Mac and I watched part of Return of the Jedi and then today I started Heir to the Empire again. It's such a good book. I love Star Wars. But I really don't like the prequels. AND I'm extremely nervous about the new Disney Star Wars movies. >_> So basically I just like the old movies and the books. :D Which I want more of. :P
Speaking of movies! Me and some of my bestest friends went to see Iron Man 3 when it came out. I liked it a lot. Tony Stark is very entertaining. x)
Now, I'm going to search the library website. Adios!

FINALS. @_@

Biology and History are on Monday, then Geometry is on Tuesday, New Testament and English are on Wednesday, and Stagecraft and Spanish are on Thursday.
I'm terrified about Biology and Geometry. I have a B currently in both those classes, and so I really need a good grade, but I'm really not good at either subject. :P So I really need to study right now.
Adios, I'll try to keep you posted through the week. :/

Shout out...

...to Maddie, because I told her to come check out this place.
So Maddie, this is for you:

;D
And while we're on the subject, for those of you who don't know:

:DD
Now I seriously need to study for my Biology final... pray for me.
Allons-y!

My Very Weird Brain

"Because the man wasn't good he was great
He'd say "Music was the home for your pain"
And explained I was young, he would say
Take that rage, put it on a page
Take that page to the stage
Blow the roof off the place"
-If You Could See Me Now, the Script

I love these lyrics. So, so much. I know they're referring to music and song-writing, but it's the same theory. Honestly, when I get really emotional- either mad or sad (usually mad) or overwhelmed or whatever, my mind goes into overdrive.
I mean, seriously. I'll sit there silently, but inside my head is spinning.
Like yesterday I got mad (long story) and this was my mind:
NonononSkyemoIcan'tAbby'sgonnakillmeAddihelloAmaianeedstotalktoyoufezzesarecoolpleasetellmehe'skiddingweeplittlelionmanskateboardRelientKRhysgrabsmyarmshisfaceterrifiedtherugisprettywhat'sgoingonnopleasenoprisonI'montopoftheworldIloveImagineDragonsAlixIlikeAlixbetterit'smoreoriginalandholycowfocusyouhavetotalknoshutupvoicesLandonandKestondialogueIneedtowritethenextpartPandoraC.S.LewisLexioohAbby'sgonnakillmecrapSherlockmindpalaceangerfearHungerGamessongsnopleasetellmeI'mhearingthiswrongI'mafreakingidiotgoshwhydidImessupthisbadIneedtoblogbecauseoftheserialstorystupidbiologyohmygoshohmygoshIhateyouAddiIhateRomeoandJuliet
I'm not exaggerating, I promise you. To be honest, there was a lot more language issues, too. >_>
So that song, that line, became my motto.
"Take that rage, put it on a page."
I held on to each detail I possibly could, and hunted down paper and a pen and wrote everything down, sorting them into categories. The rant of what made me mad (myself, in case you're wondering) was a page, front and back, and then I used like three more pages for all the other random things going on in my mind. Sometimes I wonder how I keep it all there, like on normal days.
I can quote movies, books, and TV shows better than I can talk normally, I have a song playing in my head almost 24/7, at least three plots needing to be sorted out at a time, not including whatever I'm reading at the time, dialogue, character ideas, my best friends' drama, their crazy antics, and yet somehow I can usually still be normal. Well, that's a relative term. :P I'm not really "normal". But yeah, whole different conversation.
The writing helps.
First of all, it sorts things. Organizes and filters and lets things out. And it calms me down. I'm getting all those crappy, haunting, angry thoughts out of me and onto a page, where I can seriously analyze things. Plus, a paper can't hurt someone (well, unless you get a paper cut. But that's irrelevant). I can always destroy the words if I need to, or lock them away.
It's a LOT safer than saying something I'll regret later.
Maybe it's cowardly.
But I prefer cautious.
I'm rambling. :P That happens a LOT.
Sorry.
If you're reading this either you have no life or you're just really, absurdly interested in what I have to say. So you have no life.
I probably shouldn't insult those who actually are reading what I write.
I probably should go to bed.
It's almost ten and I'm exhausted, and tomorrow's my least favorite day of the week (although I get a lot of food I think, so it shouldn't be too bad, hehe ;).
Bleh....I don't want to sleep.
In that case I should do something productive, because I have a new story idea that needs an outline, a bunch of stories that need new parts to them, a letter that needs to be written...
Instead I'm here listening to music and rambling.
I thought I decided this blog was just for writing and books and the like.
Oops.
Well, that's how it started.
Okay, I shall take my leave.
Fare thee well.
:)

Oh, dear NSA....

There are moments when I realize how much I miss that school. :)
Like right now. I've discovered several NSAers' (or past NSAers') blogs, and all the emoticons and little expressions like "'Twas" and references to the KOOTOMP and stiff and I'm like T_T I MISS YOOOOU. :( And I haven't made it to most freewrite parties lately, so I've been relying on Madelyn and Joel to keep me somewhat up to date.
I wish I could have been there for highschool and become a KOTOOMP. :P
Oops... for you non-NSAers, let explain a few things...
a) NSA stands for Northstar Academy, an online school I went to for a year while in India.
b) KOTOOMP stands for Knight of the Order of Many Posts, whose mission is basically keep the NAAT (Noble and Ancient Thread) alive.
c) The CRTN (Confederate Revolutionary Thread of NSA) opposes them. They try to have more posts than the KOTOOMP, which is pretty much impossible, because the NAAT has... *checks* a lot of posts.

NAAT: 70886
CRTN: 5282

d) That's about all the explaining you get, because let's face it, NSA is very, very, very confusing unless you're an NSAer.
Go away you stupid red squiggly lines! NSAer is spelled right!

Gosh, I'm tired.
You should have seen me in New Testament today... yeah, I was rambling about... I don't remember. Something random. v_v
In Spanish, someone dared say she saw the Hunger Games movie, but didn't read the book. I just stared.
Then she made it worse. She said, "I hate reading."
My face was a mix of horror, shock, and pure "I-will-kill-you-later" glare. -_-
Trey and Silas started laughing at me. >_> But I was horrified.
Books are such wonderful things! Filled with secrets and worlds and wonder!
Ooh, that's a rant for another time.
*hums*
*turns on the radio*
Ya know, this blog is turning into a journal of sorts. It's less, well, personal because it's on the internet and people are reading it, but it's kind of the record of my life. :P
I should go to bed...
"May the kinkajhous be ever by your side. "
OMC, summer is in EIGHT DAYS!! :D :D
This post needs a picture... *searches*
Hehehe, found one...
The unofficial NSA mascot... the kinkajou.
*considers explaining*
*looks for the explanation*
I don't have it.
-___-
*emails*
Ooh! I has the EOYAs (End of Year Awards) from last year, though. I was nominated for Most Likely to Succeed (YESH!), Most Likely to Get Their Work Done On Time (bahahahahaha, I think that was Madelyn. I cracked up when I read it. Mom laughed even harder.), Most Responsible (more hysterical laughter), Best Writer (*coughJoelcough* ;), Best Poet (okay, really? I'm horrible at poetry.), Most Likely to Use a Chatting Shortcut Out Loud (guilty), and Will Be Missed the Most (awww.... :( Love you guys).
Gosh. I didn't do too bad. ;)
Annnnd I'm now going to cry. :'(
NO I'M NOT.
I've rambled a TON.
I blame Lace and Jamie and their blogs... which I was stalking...
I mostly miss the CrWr (Creative Writing) folder. I miss reading all the beautiful poems and the awesome stories and the SLs... like right now, I really want to read that Star Wars one that Cece and Shalom were writing, about Alana and Molahs (I'm pretty sure that was his name).
Annnnd I miss the people.
Sorry, this was really random and probably really boring. :P
Byyyee!!
P.S. Sooo I got one of my EPIC NSA friends to send me the explanation... Here ya go. ;)

"THIS is a porkypine:

<<<< THAT but with 3000000000+ more pokey parts. And with laser vision and acid spit.

Basically to show you how evil these things are.... They're the ones who came up with the idea of homework. And geometry proofs. And they are secretly the ones who were behind Brittany Spear's success. THAT's how evil they are. How tough are they? Let's just say that THEY are what killed Bruce Lee. THEY'RE why Waldo is hiding. They, not Chuck Noris, is what monsters look for in their closets before they go for bed. THEY are the reason this guy looks like THIS:
Yeah. No joke.

Now that that's cleared up, Kinkajous are good guys. They're like lemur ninjas, see?

Yeah. And like ALL ninjas they get one of these:
And a bazooka. AND they've sworn to kill all porkypines. Bascially they're the reason that there are only four ghosts for Pacman to fight. They're the reason Bill Clinton didn't get elected for a third term. THEY'RE the reason that Davy Jones only went on land once every ten years. Story about the heart? Big joke. Kinkajous? Yeah, he's terrified. They're also the reason that the Joker won't be returning for Batman 3. They crack down on evil. They're like Batman but they rock. How tough are these guys? They eat porkypines for breakfast. Do you feel safe? Good. u_u

But yeah, basically Porkypines=BAD
                                    Kinkajous= GOOD"

Keep Calm...

This is my motto right now.
TEN days.
Until SUMMER!!!
AHHHHH!!!! :DD
I'm so ridiculously excited!! :D We only have the next four days of actual school, and then it's finals (ugh) and then I'm free. <3
